Xiaomi has always been a brand which offers compelling features at cheapest and affordable price. From the budget, Redmi series to flagship Mi series, all digital devices launched by the company has been a great asset when compared with money. And now, Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Pro 2 by the end of July 2017.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is the successor to last year’s Xiaomi Redmi Pro which was the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature dual camera setup. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro launched in July last year was quite popular among mobile consumers in China and sported competitive specs within an attractive price bracket. And ever since then, there has been constant rumours regarding the second smartphone in the Redmi Pro series.
Redmi Pro 2 Features:
Although there has been no official statement from the company regarding technical specifications of the smartphone, few reliable leaks of the smartphone do provide some hint about the specification. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is rumoured to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor but there is a possibility that the company may be working on a MediaTek Helio P25 version as well. Speaking of the software, the smartphone will be running MIUI on the latest Android v7.0 Nougat. Unlike its predecessor, the Redmi Pro 2 is believed to ditch the dual camera setup and will feature a single camera with improved specs. It will boast at least a 12MP likely to be Sony IMX 362 sensor with 1.4um pixel and Dual Pixel autofocus capability. The smartphone further gets a boost in terms of the battery as it includes a larger 4500 mAh non-removable battery which is an up from its predecessor.
The display size is believed to remain unchanged as the new Redmi Pro 2 will flaunt a 5.5 inch Full HD AMOLED display. The smartphone will feature a bezel-less display and will come with a brushed metal finish at the back. The smartphone will also be equipped with a fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port. It will include all the required sensors such as an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor and gyroscope. The Redmi Pro 2 is expected to be launched in two storage and RAM variants. One with a 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage which would cost CNY 1800 (Rs 18000) and the other variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage which would cost CNY 1600 (Rs 16000). The smartphone is expected to come in gold, silver and grey colour options.
Should You Buy Redmi Pro 2?
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 boasts all the best specs with a massive battery. Also, the base variant comes with a 4GB RAM which makes it an ideal device for budget buyers. However, there will be limited availability of the device outside China and a tough competition from other brands in this competitive price bracket. It will be wise to wait for the official launch of the smartphone to see what new Xiaomi has to serve the customers this time.
