Samsung Galaxy Note 7 VS Apple iPhone 7
A lot of heat has been generated in the past few weeks in the high-end smartphone arena with both Apple and Samsung all primed to launch their new flagship devices in the embodiment of Apple iPhone 7 and Note 7 respectively.
The rumours, speculations and leaks are giving a fairly good idea of what to expect from these yet to be launched mobile phones.
The recent rumours regarding Samsung Galaxy Note 7 suggest that it will be offered in two versions both having 5.8 inches to 6-inch display with Quad HD resolution. Now whether it’s going to be curved display similar to S7 or the normal flat one is yet to be seen but yes it’s going to be a water resistant phone. With Apple we will see two versions as well – iPhone 7 (4.7-inch) and iPhone 7 Plus (5.5-inch) with looks similar to its predecessor. It’s expected to be the slimmest phone from Apple till date without the antenna lines. If speculations are to be believed then not only it will be waterproof, but equipped with the technology called “Pixel Eyes”, which enhances screen response when touched. Few leaks are suggesting the possibility of a 4k display.
With Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz, running on Android Marshmallow and coupled with 6 GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will have an enhanced performance and battery life. When it comes to internal storage, it’s expected to come in variants of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB with the option of expandable storage. It will have a non-removable 4000mAh battery. This will do away of the battery complaints that the user had with Note 5.
Whereas iPhone 7 is rumoured to sport A10 chip with 3 GB RAM. It will run on iOS 10. In an attempt to slim down the phone, will Apple compromise on the battery front is a pertinent question? One leak suggests that the battery power included in Apple iPhone 7 will be 7.04 watt-hours which are similar to iPhone 6 but 6.5% more than iPhone 6S. However with iPhone 7, the company might not offer the 16 GB version.

Coming on to the camera of the two smartphones, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7, it’s expected to have an upgraded sensor compared to the previous version. It will have a wider aperture of f/1.4 with a lens of 24 MP. The company known to focus on its camera in mobile phones a bit too seriously, won’t disappoint here as well. Equally competitive will be the picture quality of images clicked from iPhone 7 with a dual lens camera of 12 MP boosted by Optical Image Stabilization. The front camera will be a 5MP lens. Taking it all a step further the company might use the Imaging Technology of an Israel-based company, to provide DSLR-like images.
